About Us

Our Heart Is Simple: Love God. Love People.

At Dayton First Church, we believe life is transformed when people encounter God and experience authentic community. That's why everything we do is designed to help people grow closer to Jesus and closer to one another.

Meet Pastor Daniel & Mary

Pastor Daniel Trimbach and his wife, Mary, have a deep passion for helping people grow in their relationship with Jesus and discover their God-given purpose. Daniel grew up in the Dayton area, and has been heavily involved in ministry since his youth. Over the past decade, he has served in a variety of full-time ministry roles, faithfully following God's leading and investing in the spiritual growth of others.

Before entering vocational ministry, Daniel served in the United States Navy. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business & Professional Leadership and a Master of Arts in Ministerial Leadership from Southeastern University.

Together, Daniel and Mary are dedicated to the mission of helping all people enter into a relationship with Christ. They count it a privilege to serve Dayton First Church and are passionate about seeing lives changed through the love, grace, and truth of Jesus. Their heart is to see generations transformed as children, students, adults, and families grow in faith and discover God's purpose for their lives.

Our vision is to see generations transformed — where faith is lived, passed on, and multiplied.

Our Beliefs:

At Dayton First Church, our beliefs are rooted in the Bible and centered on Jesus Christ.

We are part of the Church of the Nazarene and the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition, seeking to love God,

love people, and help all people enter into a relationship with Christ.

  • We believe there is one God who exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator of all things, holy in His nature, perfect in His love, and desires a relationship with every person.

    Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:4-5; Matthew 28:19-20; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 John 4:8

  • We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God who became fully human while remaining fully God. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and offers salvation to all who trust in Him.

    Scripture: John 1:1-18; Luke 1:26-35; Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Hebrews 7:25

  • We believe the Holy Spirit is God's presence at work in the world today. He convicts people of sin, leads them to Christ, transforms believers, empowers them for service, and guides them into truth.

    Scripture: John 14:16-17, 26; John 16:7-15; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:1-17; Galatians 5:22-25

  • We believe the Bible is God's inspired Word and is our final authority for faith and Christian living. Through Scripture, God reveals His character, His will, and His plan of salvation.

    Scripture: Psalm 119:105; John 10:35; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21

  • We believe every person is created in the image of God and deeply loved by Him. Because of sin, humanity is separated from God and unable to save itself apart from His grace.

    Scripture: Genesis 1:26-27; Psalm 51:5; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3

  • We believe Jesus Christ died for the sins of the whole world. Anyone who repents of sin and places their faith in Christ can receive forgiveness, new life, and reconciliation with God.

    Scripture: John 3:16-17; Acts 4:12; Romans 5:6-11; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 John 2:2

  • We believe God's grace is at work in every person's life, drawing them toward Him. God offers salvation freely, but each person must choose how they will respond to His invitation.

    Scripture: Joshua 24:15; John 1:12-13; Titus 2:11; Hebrews 3:15; Revelation 3:20

  • We believe God not only forgives sin but transforms lives. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, believers can grow in Christlikeness, love God wholeheartedly, and love others faithfully. We believe God calls His people to holy living and wholehearted devotion.

    Scripture: Romans 12:1-2; Galatians 2:20; Ephesians 5:1-2; 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24; 1 Peter 1:15-16

  • We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, called to worship God, make disciples, serve others, and share the hope of Jesus with the world. Every believer has a role in God's mission.

    Scripture: Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:42-47; Romans 12:4-8; Ephesians 4:11-16; 1 Peter 2:9

  • We believe baptism and communion are sacred practices given by Jesus to His Church. Baptism is a public declaration of faith, and communion reminds us of Christ's sacrifice and our unity in Him.

    Scripture: Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3-4; Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

  • We believe that every person is created in the image of God and is deeply loved by Him. We are committed to treating all people with dignity, compassion, grace, and respect.

We believe that God created humanity as male and female and that marriage is His design for a lifelong covenant relationship between one man and one woman. We believe this design was established by God in creation, affirmed by Jesus Christ, and serves as the biblical context for sexual intimacy.

Like all people, we believe every person is invited to experience God's grace, forgiveness, and transforming work through Jesus Christ. Our desire is to speak the truth in love while pointing people to the hope, redemption, and new life found in Him.

    Scripture: Genesis 1:27; Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; Mark 10:6-9; Ephesians 5:31-32

  • We believe that every human being is created in the image of God and is therefore worthy of dignity, value, and protection. Human life begins at conception and remains sacred through life's final breath.

Because life is God's gift, we are committed to valuing and defending the unborn, caring for children and families, supporting mothers and fathers, honoring the elderly, and showing Christlike compassion to all people. We believe that every person matters to God and that every life has purpose and value in His eyes.

    Scripture: Genesis 1:26-27; Psalm 139:13-16; Jeremiah 1:5; Proverbs 31:8-9; Luke 1:41-44

  • We believe God is able to heal physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. We pray in faith for healing while also recognizing God's work through medical care and wisdom.

    Scripture: Psalm 103:2-5; Matthew 4:23-24; Mark 5:34; James 5:13-16

  • We believe Jesus Christ will return again. There will be a resurrection of the dead, a final judgment, and eternal life for all who place their faith in Christ. God will make all things new and dwell forever with His people.

    Scripture: John 14:1-3; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 21:1-5; Revelation 22:12-13
